ESL Ministry

The mission of our ESL ministry is to share the love of God with international neighbors who want to learn English. Our volunteers teach the English language and American culture, build relationships, and share our love of God and concerns for each other in weekly or bi-weekly ESL classes. Our volunteers serve according to their talents. Some teach; some assist with teaching; some care for the children of our students; some act as hospitality hosts planning and serving refreshments and some offer scripture lessons and devotions. All of us strive to build relationships to be better neighbors to our brothers and sisters. To build this ministry, we need volunteers of all types. You do NOT need to be able to speak a foreign language to help grow this ministry! Contact Eileen DesLauriers to volunteer.

Currently, our 6 week summer session is Friday evenings June 18-July 23 from 7:00 pm-9:00 pm at Warrenton Baptist Church. Marco and Joanna Capayachi will offer Bible Study the same evenings beginning at 6:00 pm. We have classes at 3 different levels of instruction and hope to be able to offer a more advanced 4th level of instruction beginning with our fall term. We accept students of all nationalities, cultures, and religions. All students must register and have a fluency evaluation to ensure proper placement before beginning classes. Fluency evaluations for the summer session will be done Tuesday, June 15 6pm -9pm.

Fall session will begin in late August and run to the middle of December. Spring session will be January to May. For further registration or fluency evaluation information, please contact Eileen DesLauriers, ESL Director - 412-735-0993.
