Haiti Ministry

HAITI MINISTRY

Warrenton Baptist Church has had a long and deeply meaningful relationship with the Jerusalem Baptist Church (JBC) in Fort Liberté, Haiti. Since 1995, we have made an annual pilgrimage to work together with our Haitian Christian brothers and sisters, coming alongside them to fulfill the visions that God has given them. We partner with several churches through the 501c3 non-profit, Friends of Fort Liberté (FFL). Under the leadership of Pastor Dasnis Pierre, the Jerusalem Baptist Church is a dynamic fellowship in the northeast district of the country striving every day to meet the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of the community. As we support the JBC ministries, our church members typically find themselves serving in the school, the medical clinic, on the farm, at the grandparents' home, or on a construction project.

Currently, Warrenton Baptist Church takes two trips each fall, and we welcome anyone from students in 9th grade to those in their 9th decade to be a part of what the Lord is doing in Fort Liberté.

Other Ways to Get Involved

If you cannot physically go to Haiti, there are still numerous ways to be involved. First, and most importantly, we covet your prayers for the work in Haiti and for our teams as they travel.

Perhaps the Lord is calling you to use your resources to help meet the needs of our Haitian brothers and sisters, or to donate needed items. Each team that travels to Ft. Liberté takes supply donations of children’s chewable vitamins with iron (no gummies), eye glasses (non-prescription magnified), bar soap (no liquids), twin-size sheets, pillow cases, and bath towels. Other specific items are advertised prior to the trip dates.

If God calls you to it, we welcome you to be a part of the sponsorship programs throughout Friends of Fort Liberté. Consider sponsoring an orphan in kinship care or a community child in the scholarship program.  There are also sponsorship needs for the Eben-Ezer Farm, the Grandparents’ House, the Eben-Ezer Medical Clinic, Feed My Lambs (school lunch program), Jericho Village, and Higher Education (helping deserving students continue their education in trade school or university).

There is also a need for help with local fundraising efforts and we welcome new and creative ideas! One WBC child set up her birthday party for her gifts to be donations to FFL.  Another volunteer set up a fundraiser at her school . Others have organized bake sales, silent auctions, and community events all to benefit our friends in Ft. Liberté.  Whether it be in your school, your workplace, your neighborhood, or open to the public, we would love to hear your ideas!
