Sewing Ministry
This ministry seeks to provide new dresses to girls suffering from extreme poverty in Uganda, Africa. We partner with Hope 4 Kids International, a faith-based non-profit organization. We gather monthly to sew dresses and make matching cloth dolls to distribute with each dress. Dresses are hand-delivered during annual mission trips, and lovingly placed directly on the girls.
These dresses can change a girl’s life. Village pastors have told us that a new dress gives a girl an appearance of being cared for and may discourage would-be predators. We also put a Hope 4 Women label on the outside of each dress to send the message that this girl is under the care of an organization, thus giving her added protection from those who would harm her. The dress can also change a girl’s outlook on life. Someone she doesn’t even know cares for her. She is an important and loved child of God. She can now go to school and church, and she knows this will open doors for her future. That kind of confidence makes anything possible for her!
This ministry meets the 3rd Saturday of every month from 9am until noon in the Fellowship Hall, and is open to everyone – regardless of sewing skills. There are plenty of jobs that require no sewing at all!
