First Friday

First Friday

First Friday is a town event organized and hosted by the Town of Warrenton on the first Friday of every warm month (May – October). There are vendors, non-profits, organizations, and groups that are invited to set up booths with information, crafts, giveaways, etc. Each group sets up a tent/pavilion or activity all along both sides of Main Street which has been closed to traffic for the night. There are food trucks, bands, beer gardens, entertainers, etc. Families bring children in strollers, their dogs, and their friends… it’s fun for the young and the old alike.

The mission of our First Friday team is evangelistic - to turn everyday conversations into gospel conversations right there on Main Street by greeting and meeting passers-by and those who come into our tent. Our secondary mission is to make Warrenton Baptist Church more familiar and recognizable in the Warrenton community.

The team will set up our blue pavilion, then offer giant Jenga, corn hole, crafts, make balloon animals, bubbles, etc. We also set up a Spirit Board that has a thought-provoking spiritual question for passers-by to consider and on which make written comments. Oftentimes, this spirit board is a great conversation starter.
