Mike was born in Illinois and raised in Northern Indiana. He came to the Northern Virginia area as a high school senior and graduated from George Mason University. During that time, he met his wife Lois and they have been married 37 years. They have four children: Reed (wife Christina), Will (wife Esti), Adam and Sara; and two grandchildren, Lottie and Lydia. Mike enjoys running, biking, kayaking and other outdoor activities. He also loves music and even plays a little guitar.
Pastor Bradley received his Master of Divinity degree from Southern Seminary, and did doctoral work at Southeastern Seminary in Wake Forest, NC. He has served at several churches in Northern Virginia, and as a teacher and seminar leader for the BGAV and NorthStar Church Network. This year, he serves as the Moderator of the Board of Directors for NorthStar. Mike is also an adjunct Professor and Site Director for the John Leland Center for Theological Education.
We asked Pastor Mike to describe his philosophy on the following topics:
“Our call to be disciples and follow Christ is a daily call. It is 24/7. It is about every day…not just Sunday. Our faith should affect the way we walk and talk and think in our lives – every day, in every circumstance."
“As a pastor, I am committed to leading through preaching, discipleship and mission opportunities to embrace a ‘Kingdom’ mindset that allows us to begin to view the world from a Biblical perspective and experience that in our daily lives. We must remember that we are a part of something bigger than ourselves, bigger than an individual church, something worldwide…something God sized."
“The Body of Christ, the Church, is about people not programs. As a community of believers, we should seek to invest in people and provide them opportunities to serve Christ while providing them the training and resources to do it.”
“The Scriptures give us the guidance that we need to navigate our journey through this life and into the next. It is where we find our hope, our strength, our comfort, and it is our compass for daily living by God’s design.”
“The most important things that happen in the life of the church happen outside the walls.”
A Letter from Pastor Mike
"Wow! Lois and I want to thank you for such a wonderful reception and warm welcome here at Warrenton Baptist! We are looking forward to the exciting adventure ahead with our new WBC family as we follow God’s lead in sharing the Gospel with our community and around the globe.
For over 170 years WBC has been a beacon of light for the love of Jesus to a world that needs a Savior! I am honored and humbled to come as your pastor and to be part of such a rich heritage of faith.
Our mission remains the same as it was in 1849 when Pastor Cumberland George and 28 members were led by God to gather together and commit themselves “to know Christ and make Him known”.
This is our call! To connect people to Jesus and provide a place where they can discover who they are in Him and how they fit into the family of God...the Body of Christ."
