Hello, Members of WBC!
I am incredibly humbled and honored to have been called to serve as the eighteenth Senior Pastor of Warrenton Baptist Church. My life was changed by Jesus when I believed the gospel through the faithful teaching of this church. I was baptized at the age of seven in the very baptistry where we still baptize new believers today. I received my first call to ministry on a middle school missions trip through the Warrenton Baptist Youth Group. My roots are deeply planted in this community, and my family and I are so excited to continue serving shoulder-to-shoulder with you as we seek the advancement of the Kingdom of God and the good of our community for Christ.
I believe we will continue to see God move in many mighty ways in our church both in the near-term, and on the distant horizon. We will continue to be a church that stands on the truth and authority of the Word of God as we seek to be obedient to the things the Lord has commanded us to do. We will continue being missions-minded in the way we cooperate and partner with other like-minded churches and in the way we invest in the Kingdom of God around the world. We will continue to regularly and intentionally engage in local missions and service to our own community through the outreach ministries that we already engage in, and through new, creative endeavors as we utilize the resources that God has given us. Both our Main Street facility and The Gathering Place at Alwington Farm will be important tools to accomplishing this task, as will all the many other resources that God has placed under our stewardship.
As many of you know, in the fall of 2022, we had four full-time ministerial staff here at WBC. Over the course of the last year, God has directed the paths of three of those full-time staff elsewhere, leaving vacancies in many important areas of the church’s ministry. By God’s grace, we have had some incredibly talented and Jesus-loving folks who have served our congregation well on both ongoing and interim bases in many of these areas. I am unbelievably grateful for each and every member of our team over the last year, and I look forward to seeing how they will continue to be used in ministry as we move into the future. We will see God bring new people to our team here at Warrenton Baptist Church as well. One of my first tasks will be to begin searching for permanent staff to fill various roles ranging from music and worship to pastoring and discipleship on a permanent basis. All of our staff members, both full-time and part-time, will serve WBC in the areas of discipleship, shepherding, program directing, and ministry facilitation of the church.
My prayer for each of you as members of Warrenton Baptist Church is that you will grow as disciples of Jesus who make disciples for Jesus. You represent a variety of giftings, talents, and callings, and the Church desperately needs you to use your gifts, talents, and resources for the glory of Christ, in obedience to the Word of God, and with love for one another. As we approach the end of 2023 but begin a brand new chapter in the life of Warrenton Baptist Church, may we be a congregation of members faithfully growing in our knowledge of and obedience to the Word of God, deeply rooted in community and fellowship with one another, and passionately and faithfully pursuing the mission that the Lord has given us to proclaim His Gospel! Soli Deo Gloria!
In Christ,
Brad Beals
Senior Pastor
What God began in your life as a new believer He has continued to lead, guide, and direct as you have sought to give Him you allegiance. Remaining true to your calling, as you grow in His likeness, others will see Jesus in you and respond to the message of the Gospel. Preach, teach, and baptize are the challenges before you as you lead Warrenton Baptist Church to fulfill it’s God-given mission. Go in peace as you represent His peace to the world. May God richly bless you in the days ahead!
