“And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and they were filled with great fear. And the angel said to them, ‘Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all people.'” – Luke 2:8-10

“Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from t he east came to Jerusalem, saying, ‘Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.'” – Matthew 2:1-2

When our God shows up He sends out invitations! The Christmas story is one filled with invitations to come to worship the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. To the shepherds He sent angels. To the wise men He sent a star. Our Father not only shows up, He invites us to come and see.

He has always done that. When God reveals Himself it is an invitation to us to respond. The Christmas story requires a response. The shepherds did not have to come. The wise men could have stayed in the east. But, you cannot stay where you are and follow God. You have to get up and go. You have to respond. You have to follow.

Have you decided to respond this Christmas to the invitation to worship Jesus with all you heart and soul and mind and strength. It requires us to walk away from our routine and go to the manger this Christmas season. You are invited to come. You are invited to worship.
