The Call to Unity

“I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” (Ephesians 4:1-3)

In this time of division in our country let there be unity in the church! everyone has their opinions about everything happening in the world around us. After this election there will be people who are upset no matter who is declared the winner. Even in the Body of Christ we have differing opinions about things and express different feelings about politics or where to shop for groceries. But, the church must remember that, though we are different, we have a divine calling to be unified in following Jesus as our Savior and Lord no matter our differences. Jesus and His mission first!

The beauty of the Body of Christ is that it is made up of many different parts but all with the same purpose, “to know Christ and make Him known”. We can disagree about many things in this world, but this is not debatable. This is a powerful part of our testimony to the world around us…there is room at the cross for everyone no matter your background or the color of your politics…come to Jesus. Our faith rests upon He who sits on the throne as King of kings not on who sits in the oval office this term.

So, today let us come to God with one heart asking God to grant revival to our church, our community and our country.
