50 Day Prayer Challenge – Day 43

“I will take my stand at my watchpost and station myself on the tower, and look out to see what He will say to me, and what I will answer when I am reproved.” (Habakkuk 2:1).

Are you ready? Are you watching? Many of us toss prayer requests at the foot of the throne and just walk away. Maybe it is a spiritual way of washing your hands to the whole thing, “I’ll just give it over to God and let Him clean up this mess”. Outwardly it looks like faith but it is turning away from God instead of “leaning in”. The prophet Habakkuk models for us a different…more active way of anticipating God’s answers. It is more than just “casting our cares” on the Lord, it is fixing our eyes on Him as our only hope. We wait with eager expectation for the King to speak!

What will He say? What will He do? How will I respond? Am I ready to do what He asks? I stand at my watchpost…I station myself on the tower…I lean forward…I look out intently…I cup my hand to my ear anticipating His answer…shhhh. He is about to speak.

Today, pray again that God would grant our church, our community and our country revival. Then, climb to the top of the tower and watch for His answer!
