Prayer is a connection to the God of the Universe! This is more than just a grandiose title. Our Creator is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. He not only gives attention to you and your needs, He orchestrates the stars in the night sky. He is not just God of our nation but all nations past present and future. The Bible paints us a picture of a God who loves the whole world and is at work in every corner.
The Apostle Paul described our Lord to a young Timothy like this, “He who is blessed and ONLY sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, who dwells in unapproachable light, whom no one has ever seen or can see.” (1 Timothy 6:15, 16).
So, we have already talked about the wonderful truth that God is able. Now we need to realize that when God acts within our lives as individuals or as a community, that He does this as a part of a universal plan to redeem all of creation to Himself. In other words, we are a part of a much bigger picture! And…God has all the bases covered.
When it comes to God bringing revival the Scripture reveals to us that God can use unpleasant circumstances as well as pleasant ones to bring His people around and get their attention. It took an Assyrian Empire to wake Israel up and a Babylonia King to shake up Judah.
What I am saying is that as you pray for God to bring revival to our church, community and country it may not look exactly like you are expecting. But you can be sure that God is good and that He will always prevail!
