Now as they went on their way, Jesus entered a village. And a woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet and listened to His teaching. But Martha was distracted with much serving.” (Luke 10:38-40)

Ever feel too busy to pray? Most of us have experienced the feeling but few would admit it. We are easily distracted and that already makes prayer an uphill battle. To quiet our soul before the Lord in this busy world is not always easy. In the Scripture above I too often find myself relating to Martha rather than Mary. I’m a doer.

It is true that sometimes we pray when we should be doing. We can use prayer as an excuse not to work as God has instructed. But, praying for revival is not one of those times. We cannot make revival happen. It only comes through prayer. Prayer IS the “work” necessary because only God can bring it. Praying for revival is one of those “Mary” times where we need to sit at the feet of Jesus and worship Him.

So, on this busy Saturday when you have more things to do that you can possibly get done…make time to pray. Pray that the Lord might grant revival to our church, our community and our country. It is so needed and it starts by sitting at His feet. Do you have time today?
