When we pray, we are approaching the “throne of grace” according to Hebrews 4:16 and we can “draw near with confidence”. It is an awesome moment to come into the presence of the Almighty God who created us. As sinners we can be overwhelmed as we step into His holiness. This is when we remember that we are invited…even encouraged to come before Him.
We do not approach a God who does not know us! When we come near He is not harsh to us or stand offish. We hear the voice of a loving Father, “Hello my child, what can I do for you?”
You might respond with a prayer like this today;
Father, would you bring a revival to your people within our church and to your people within our community and your people in our country. Let your Spirit move within us in a way that makes an eternal impact in your Kingdom and brings glory to you as Lord of All. Forgive us of our pride and selfishness. Forgive us for taking our eyes off you. Have mercy on us and grant us the boldness to speak your word and to live “out loud” for the sake of your great Name that all the world would know that you are here and that you, and you alone, are God. Without you we can do nothing, but with you all things are possible! Here we are Lord Jesus! Have your way with us!
