We have already talked about the fact that not everyone is for a revival among God’s people. It would be easier if the people of God would simply stay quiet. Keep your personal convictions “personal”. All true revivals in Scripture and throughout history have opposition. When the first century church was faced with fierce persecution from inside and out they prayed;
“Sovereign Lord, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and everything in them…look upon their threats and grant to your servants to continue to speak your word with all boldness, while you stretch out your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are performed through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” (Acts 4:24, 29-30).
Notice that their response was to pray for BOLDNESS to share the Gospel! The revival of God’s people always results in the sharing of the Gospel with our world! Revival does not turn down the volume…it turns it up!
Today as you pray for God to bring revival to our churches, our communities and our country, ask Him to give you boldness in speaking His word!
