“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus the Founder and Perfecter of our faith.” (Hebrews 12:1, 2)
When we first came to Jesus we turned away from our sins and we turned toward Jesus. This is repentance and becomes part of our regular discipline as followers of Jesus. Daily putting away distractions and keeping our eyes on Jesus makes us ready for God’s work in our lives. Revival requires the same singular focus.
Some of us are struggling to run the race set before us with weights around our necks! Take time today to go before the Lord and ask what things in your life need to be laid aside in order for you to be ready for Him to bring revival to you and through you in our church, our community and our country.
